Default Big Radius 2 - 1 GRRRR

Hi guys,

I've seen lots of threads regarding this but just wanted someone to reassure me.

I've been trying to get the baffle out so I can insert a smartzpart quiet baffle in.

The instructions say take the screw that holds the baffle in so you can remove it, sounds simple.

That b*stard is stuck in, am I right in thinking there is only one screw that holds it in? There's another screw further down the pipe just before the 2 become 1 but I can t imagine the baffle goes that far!!!

If it is only one screw it really is stuck, I'm starting to bend the end of the baffle with my pliers! HELP!

Get a wooden dowell about the same size diameter as baffle hole & work it round. Sounds like yours is pressed in a bit & just needs to wiggle loose. Also, alot of p-oil works too...good luck!

Thanks I'll try and find some and give it a go!

I'd love to leave it that loud but I want to use it as a commuter and can't start it early in the morning at that volume. my neighbors will me!

Plus the popping on decel is a bit much for my taste.!!!

What do you mean hook a cable in?

The holes in the baffle are before the disc so I can't run something through them.

I'm grabbing it with some pliers and pulling it with my entire weight and the thing is just not budging!!!

i took some cable, hooked that to a piece of thin round stock that i bent to a hook and ran it though the fins of the baffle, hooked the other end to the slide hammer and popped away

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

I am right in thinking there is only one screw holding in the baffle on the 2-1?

how big is your freezer? freeze the pipe, then after about an hour, pull out and use a hair dryer on the outside of the pipe to warm it up. The baffle will stay cold and the pipe will expand as it warms. Then tap lightly on ground and the baffle will slide right out. This is how I got my baffle out of a 2-2 BR pipe where it was stuck in there. Freezer trick often used to install press in bearings easily too.
