Default Exhaust wrap - advice please

I ordered Vance & Hines Black exhaust wrap for my pipes (too hot for me)
Will I have to take pipes off in order to install?
Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

Taking the pipes off is a must if you want it done right. You want to soak the wrap as you are wrapping it around the pipe. Try to be as consistent with the spacing as possible. They also sell black header wrap paint to if you are going for the black look.

Thanks - I ordered the black wrap that V&H sells.
I am not very mechanically inclined, Is it difficult to take the pipes off?

Taking the pipes off is definately a must. You can wrap it wet or dry. Wet is the way i do it and reason is you can get is ALOT tighter and get the most out of your wrap. Now i will say this haha when you soak it and get it done you need to put the exhaust back on there and get her cranked up and dry it out. We ride it and let it dry out. And GOD at the smoke. Its normal and all but will definately be fun to watch.

Taking the exhaust off is about as easy as it gets. As long as you have the right tools of course. No specialty tools are required if that is what you are inquiring about. Being that you are not that mechanically inclined, maybe bring it in to a shop, as with most HD bolts I usually use a torque wrench.

You do have exhaust brackets and definitely should reuse them. What you need to replace are the exhaust seals at the head pipes, and make sure you get the old ones out.
