I have a set of slip on mufflers ( 80418-06 Harley slip on ) can I pull the Baffles out and shorten them will that make a difference? Someone told me their is a fiberglass wrap around them what do I do with that? Just looking for a little more noise ( not more HP).I have a 2006 Wide Glide EFI Thank for any help.

 

To shorten the mufflers do you mean cutting the muffler shorter. The baffles have the fiberglass rapping to cut down on the noise. If you get the baffles out the fiberglass can be disposed of in what ever your state regulations say.

 

Someone told me that you can cut the baffles (shorten them ) and this will make the sound a little louder. Will taking the fiberglass rapping off make it vary loud or extremely loud do you know? Don't want to wake all the neighbor's only some of them. Thanks again

 

Taking the fiberglass off will make it a little louder. No adverse effects that I noticed.
