I know this sounds crazy, but I bought a 2005 super glide sport and I went to check the oil, where I think the oil dipstick should be and it wont come out. Am I missing something here? It turns and turns, but doesn't come out. Thoughts?
Mine is threaded in. One of the 2006 improvements. Of course there are like 5 other serious design flaws that didn't exist in the 05...but the dipstick works great.

Are you serious about design flaws in 2006+ models? I have a 2007, anything I should keep my eye on?
Cheers.

No the most serious one (no dowels in the IP & trans cases) was fixed mid year in 06. The crappy stator was updated in 07 to a welded one. Plus in 07 I think they used a better front motor mount. 8 degree fuel injectors were upgraded in late 06 models as well. The neutral light issue was a recall. Mine is a early 06 model so I have all the issues. I have already had the fuel injectors done and the N light switch recall done. So, someday I may be dealing with the stator and IPB issues.
