Default need new headlight bulb, want to upgrade...

well my headlight bulb blew today.

or at least half of it.

it's currently only working on high beam.

seeing as how i need to replace it, i might as well upgrade.

i don't want to go HID because i don't want the hassle of hiding a ballast.

what are my options for a brighter bulb that'll work without any sort of mods?

thanks in advance

I run the Sylvania Ultra H4's and they are perfect for not going HID!! They don't cost $80 like the PIAAS either. The first bulb lasted 2 years in the bike. 3 years in my escalade and still going. I tried them first in the Escalade in the winter time. Light distance was way better and the snow was actually white at night not brown. On the bike it added about 15-20 ft of light distance.

Just go to Auto Zone, O'reilly or whatever auto parts store and if you are running the stock headlight wiring harness just ask or look for the "SYLVANIA ULTRA H4" The part number is the H4 bulb!!

I haven't upgraded my headlight on my Lowrider yet. When I did on my Suzuki with it's big 9 inch headlight, I first went with PIAA. Sure was glad I bought from someone that would let me return it. Different color, no more light. The Sylvania Ultra was a big improvement and cost much less.

Sylvania has a whole line of Upgrades in H4, Nitebreakers are a newer model and IMO above the Ultras, Cool Blues are nice too.
Look for the Osram Brand. Sylvania and Osram are the same company, but Osram bulbs are made in a different plant
and I've found they seem to last longer.
