The trim edging sounds great.....just not sure I could do it "right" .....if it wasn't perfect, it would look like crap....but something to look into.

Joe:

I'm using the deluxe saddlebag liner bags that are for the late model Touring models ... I think they are P/N 91885-97A .... Although the bottom of the bags are a little narrower than the new style ... so, they accordion in a little (not much) .... Work pretty good for me ....

I also found that the rack in chrome is better than black. testfitting showed that it made the tailight stand out better and just looks great!

So, basically, I mounted the rack today and took a few pics of the completed project. Hope you enjoy. All done.

Outstanding work Joe. Turned out fantastic. Do those hard bags have more room inside compared to the leather hard backed HD bags I am running? Yours sure look great!

Joe (Traveler), watching how you have progressed with those bags and the quality of the work on them required me to make a comment. You have done a great job and the chrome rack does a great job of accenting the bike and the plate. Great work and cool looking bike!

Thanks!

These bags are a bit smaller than the leather ones. The bags are NOT big....just look good.
