Buy the '06, drop a couple of grand in it to bring that 88 to life, and ride the **** out of it!

Default 6 of one half dozen of the other

If you were talking about 40-50 years of technology difference-there is a great difference. But here an 88ci motor tuned and maintained correctly can be just as efficient and run just as fast as a 96. The 6 speed on the other hand can keep you running at lower RPM on long hauls, which means less wear on the engine, again- by how much. Figuratively you are looking at the difference betweeen a Chevy 305 and a 327.

The problem with these type of questions, is I provide my view, and it is seen by some as putting down 06+ bikes, which is not the intention at all.

Again, the older DYNA's are VERY nice, but seem to be overlooked. This, can cause a smart shopper to get a great deal!
