Default Thickness of primary

I was wondering if anyone knows the thickness of the primary cover? I have been wearing down the metal just below the cover from hard cornering and am starting to wonder how soon will it be before I tear it open. Go ahead and tell me to quit riding hard, not going to happen.

Nothing wrong with scraping parts. Honestly, if I knew it was just a matter of time till a part failed, I would start scouring ebay for that super deal, buy the part and stick it in the closet. Then when the time comes, spend twenty minutes and swap it out. Its not like your gonna tear some titanic size hole in it and all the fluids gonna explode out of the primary in .006379 seconds. Its will start to leak, you'll see it and you'll fix it.

how are you hitting your primary with out wiping out.. by the time you hit your primary, you are way past the usable tread on your tires.i think you are doing somthing on your bike all wrong..

Haha...forward controls are there and rubber worn down as well as boot corners. Usuable tread is still there I have at least 1/2 inch on both sides (2 or 3 letters in the dunlop on the K591), the mini apes avoid the bar scraping deal.

Not being a d*ck here....most harley riders never use more than 1/2-2/3 of the usable tread....look at the tires and tell me the percentage of them ground flat in the middle with a square forming. Turns are one of the best parts of riding a motorcycle on the road.

Honestly I am not trying to ruffle feathers here just curious when I should start worrying. I know when I get close and break through I will be stranded where ever I am at, and when it happens it probably wont be a small leak (think murphy).

I love riding the twisties and I love harleys so I have accepted replacing parts but I was just hoping for a time frame.

If you aint scraping you aint riding.....just kidding....calm down

You need to learn to hang off the side a bit so you don't have to lean the bike so far over

I have a spare primary cover I could part with, it's the satin chrome one off my FLSTFB (swapped it out for a wrinkled black one) don't think it'll fit a Dyna though.

Or you could just carry a pack of quick-set JB Weld with you
