Just a plain 5$ black neoprene half face cover from nose to chin is all I need most of the time. When it gets really cold then a balaclava for the neck and head and I'm good down to about 35 degrees or so!

I have a gortex facemask that velcros around the back for those cool days. If it's really cold, I'll throw on a fullface.

If you want to keep riding with an open face in colder autumn/winter weather don't think you can beat the neoprene masks, most cover your ears too and velcro at the back..they're warm and comfortable to wear and save your face from a skinpeel when it rains and easy stashed in your inside pocket.
Trouble with face scarfs is they don't keep your face warm and in heavy rain you drown or suffocate,,so only good in fine weather..

Thats my experiance in Sweden......

+1 for Schampa, I have the Pharaoh for really cold, and a standard for 40-50 degree days. Can also be used for snowmobiles and ATV's
