Just a plain 5$ black neoprene half face cover from nose to chin is all I need most of the time. When it gets really cold then a balaclava for the neck and head and I'm good down to about 35 degrees or so!

I wear just a cheap one as well,it does help. Also riding into the sun durring summer, keeps my nose from getting red.
the leather masks from solid state look bad ***.... seem to be a little pricey though. just wondering about how they would feel after a couple hundred mile ride. i would love to try before i buy!!
If you want to keep riding with an open face in colder autumn/winter weather don't think you can beat the neoprene masks, most cover your ears too and velcro at the back..they're warm and comfortable to wear and save your face from a skinpeel when it rains and easy stashed in your inside pocket.
Trouble with face scarfs is they don't keep your face warm and in heavy rain you drown or suffocate,,so only good in fine weather..
