Renting in New Orleans and drop in Miami

Most HD dealers don't permit a rental to be dropped at another dealer. There's usually a pretty hefty transport fee involved (to return the bike to the renting dealership) if you do.
Have heard mixed opinions on Eagle Rider. Some of their rental bikes are older models (compared to HD which are usually current year or one year old) and not always well maintained. Also, unlike HD where you reserve the actual model, some of the Eagle Rider locations ask you to make a selection and an alternate since they can't guarantee that your first choice will be available.
Good luck. Sounds like it should be a fun ride.

Just too long of a trip timewise now, I did do a Long Island NY to Key West FL then back to NY. We stopped at this place in Suches GA called Two Wheels Only www.twowheelsonly.com and stayed a few days. Great mountain rides and the night life was great too.
NY to Jacksonville, FL is about 16-18hrs.
