Default Renting in New Orleans and drop in Miami

What the best company to rent a HD in New Orleans and drop it in Miami? It seems the closest HOG dealer is Georgia or Texas, and I'd rather just fly into New Orleans. Anyone use Eagle Riders? Any better ones to consider?

Default N.O.

There are 6 Harley dealers in the N.O. area. There is an Eagle Rider dealer on Canal Street.

Most HD dealers don't permit a rental to be dropped at another dealer. There's usually a pretty hefty transport fee involved (to return the bike to the renting dealership) if you do.

Have heard mixed opinions on Eagle Rider. Some of their rental bikes are older models (compared to HD which are usually current year or one year old) and not always well maintained. Also, unlike HD where you reserve the actual model, some of the Eagle Rider locations ask you to make a selection and an alternate since they can't guarantee that your first choice will be available.

Good luck. Sounds like it should be a fun ride.

With HD Fly and Ride you have to return the bikes back to the same location that you rented them from and anyway the closest they have to New Orleans is around Atlanta,GA and San Antonio,TX.
Is Eagle Riders the best of the "others" that rent bikes?

Why not just ride to N.O...then on to FL then back up north. It's not cold yet up there so the ride would be nice especially if you detour back through the Smoky Mtns on the way home.

Just too long of a trip timewise now, I did do a Long Island NY to Key West FL then back to NY. We stopped at this place in Suches GA called Two Wheels Only www.twowheelsonly.com and stayed a few days. Great mountain rides and the night life was great too.

yeah, it would be a long trip. What about trailering down to FL. Then ride out to N.O. then back to FL. Would be a nice trip.

NY to Jacksonville, FL is about 16-18hrs.
