Hello, I have a SE Heavy Breather on my bike now but I am thinking of modding up my own round cleaner. My quesiton is will I loose any power by doing this? I would get a K&N round air filter.
Top pic is K&N or Big Sucker and bottom is a SE.. have an SE myself with no probs..mate had a K&N and the AC cover did'nt sit right, the two protruding bolts you see at the top did'nt allow his cover to sit flush. Same as another guy with a Big Sucker.. I'm sticking with SE
Part number on the k&n? Looks like it would flow as much as the heavy breather to me, it looks pretty clean too. Wonder what you would do about the rain though? Could you find a rain sock to fit that?
Its a SE set up with the center of the original football cover cut out and then bolted on,you could alsu put an airfilter insert from HD over the end, same thing.
I'm definitely doing that! Does anyone know what I would need other than the filter and cover going from a heavy breather to this setup? Thanks for the info

Took off the football A/C cover and re-installed the filter leaving off the football and mounted the 100th Anniversary trim directly to the SE tage 1 A/C.
In order to protect the exposed filter element from the rain, I use an A/C rain sock like this:
The five hole bracket I have on my Dyna came with the 100th Ann. A/C trim (see parts diagram below). It sells for USD 13,66 at Zanotti.com and LSHD1.com.
