First a little background on my bike. Original owner purchased new 10/07, paid cash. Apparently ran seriously afoul of the law shortly thereafter and had to sign the bike over to his attorney for fees. Bike sat in attorney's back yard for over two years. Not covered, not ridden, not cleaned. Bike had fallen over at least once on each side (handle bar travel-limiting tabs on lower triple tree clamps both sheared) and had hail damage to sheetmetal. Tires were apparently flat for some time also. Attorney bit the dust, massive heart attack. His daughter put the bike in local Bargain Post paper where a friend happened to see it and gave me a call. Bike had <3k miles. Picked it up for $6800. Fired right up, but it looked like hell. I swear I've seen 10 year old, poorly maintained, bikes that were in better shape. Ended up restoring almost the whole front end, all sheet metal, exhaust tips, a few mods, and a lot of cleaning. Came in right at 2k. I'm very happy with the final result. The before pics are a little misleading since they show the bike after I'd put in about two days detailing and polishing out the rust. Still have to install chrome fender support covers and new rubber.
