I was wondering if anybody purchased boss bags they are detachable saddlebags.According to the manufacture they have a bracket on the bottom to stop them from sagging. Are they worh the money?

Everyone that has them has said they are great quality. Much too pricey for me though.

I just bought and installed LeatherWorks bags with easy brackets. Very nice, and much cheaper. I definately can not stand on them though like in the boss ads.

Even the owner of leatherworks said that Boss makes some great bags, but that they are just really expensive.

They are just heavy leather. I did put in a couple bricks to account for that during install. It didn't really move.
That said, they are new so they could start to sag as the leather conditions.

The backing is a rubberized ABS plastic that is pretty sturdy. They aren't floppy bags, but I can see your concern. For me, i can almost buy another set for the same price as 1 set of boss.

What about the pipes. Do they clear?

Depends on the bag you buy.
Some will some will not.
Not sure about the boss mounting style, but with easybrackets, you set the height of the bags.
I set mine high to clear my stock pipes.

I'd call boss and speak with them. They were pretty helpful when making my decision process.
I don't think you can make a mistake buying the boss bags. They have a very good reputation.

I put Boss Bags on my bike last year.

Since then I have put about 17,000 miles on the bike and bags and they are still holding up great.

They have sat in the pouring rain overnight as well as outside at work in the sun.

I have ridden through heavy rain and they never leaked.

They are definitely worth the money.

They leave the bike looking very clean when you take them off however I hardly ever go anywhere without my saddlebags.

I've had mine for over a year they still look good and about 5,000 mile on them.
I got mine at IronHorse Trading Company

I also got my bags from Ironhorse.

Matt the owner is a real standup guy. He gives you 30 days to put the bags on your bike and try them out. If you don't like them just pack them up and send them back for a full refund.
