Had the same thing happen to me a few years ago. Found that one of the rear turn signal wires running under the rear fender had rubbed on the tire and was shorting out. repaired wire, secured it and it has never come back on.

Dude!, I just went and looked under my rear fender and the wire is hanging down on the left side and has been rubbing on the tire. Crazy stuff. LOL
mine does not do like op i just got curious and see if any codes plus i have no problem with speedo i have gone through those moblie speed posters and speedo shows same speed and everbody has condensation in lense
Happened to me once at around 5K miles or so, didn't investigate it then. Bike now has 27K miles on it, hasn't happened since and have had no problems like those discussed here. Key light flashes when it's supposed to and doesn't when it shouldn't.
I thought that codes were shown on the yellow check engine lamp? He said the security light was coming on.
The yellow engine light shows that the P (ECM/ICM Electronic Control Module) is throwing a code. The red key light shows that the S (TSM/TSSM Turn Sig/Security Module) is throwing a code. I'm not sure what shows when you have a SP (speedometer) or T (tackometer) code.
Anybody?
