Default Just want make sure..tire size before I pull the trigger

Right now I have the stock cast wheels stock size is

Front 100/90-19 57H

Rear 150/80B16 71H

Thinking I can go up to a

110/90-19 for the front.?

180/70-16 for the rear?

Both tries will be Metzeler ME 880.

What year bike and rim sizes do you have? You may be ok on the front, but having a 150/80-16 tells me you won't be able to go to a 180, especially the Metzeler.

I agree with that.

There are two limiting things, your rim width and the space between your current tyre and the belt. If you have a 3 1/2" rim you can fit a 160, as long as you have over 1/4" clearance at present.

Fitted tyre widths vary and to be safe, to get in a 180 instead of your 150 you need around 3/4" to provide safe clearance. Even if you remove your belt guard I doubt if you have that, but check.

I also think you will need a wider rim than 3 1/2". Metzeler may have rim and tyre width data on their website, certainly Avon (my preferred brand) does.

Metzeler 180/70R-16 for the rear requires a 5" to 6.0" rim 5.0" recommended and the 110/90-19 requires a 2.15 to 3" rim 2.5" recommended
