Default Loudest Pipe with best power

Hi all,
Im looking for new pipes--I want loud but not with a bad power lose. I have the SE Slips on and while the have a nice sound, they are not loud enough for me.
Ive been doing some research and it seems once you go too loud (usually means shorter pipes) you start to lose power--especially torque.

Ive got it narrowed down to V&H Big Raduis or Big Shots Staggered.
Ive been unable to find a good comparison of them both. Which one is loudest? And is there a significant power difference if the bike is tuned properly?

Finally, should I consider something else?
Thanks!

You do know that you have options as far as baffles go. They are cheaper than full systems. Just sayin.

V&H =JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!

THUNDERHEADER 2 INTO 1.

you want the loudest but be very careful. cops don't.
in boston they pull people over and if you don't have an epa stamp on your exhaust
you get a ticket.

V&H you lose alot of torque.

Keep shopping.

Rinehart makes a nice 2 into 1 also.

I did look into the Thunderheader -- honestly, call me vain but I really didnt like the look of them. They look way too long and clumsy for a dyna. Just my opinion of course.

I do like the look of the V&H models.

Reinharts seem a little expensive to me.

Gotta make a decision -- wanna pull the trigger on this tommorrow :-)

I have a set of supertrapps on my FXD...work for me. Pretty sure they still make some with tuning disks to optimize power that are pretty cool too.

Samson Legends, loud but like most drag pipes don't hit their stride until over 4 grand! Who cares what cops want, I don't ride with them.

Thunderheader= Junk!!!!!!!!!!!

You say V&N loose alot of torque. What is your idea of alot of torque. Give me a number. 3,4, or 5 foot lbs. How much? A lot of people don't like those ugly azz 2 into 1 pipes including me. Don't bash **** unless you can post up facts to back your comments. If you loose just a few lbs of torque then that ain't ****. I would rather loose 10 lbs of torque then sport those ugly azz 2 into 1 pipes.

I like my Thunderheader, I just can't stand the quality of the finish. It (chrome) rusted out within 6mos of ownership.

Kev, if you do buy one in chrome before you install it have it rechromed by a quality shop. I tried to get mine redone a few months back and several shops said that the carbon would contaminate the dip tanks. I said "so, plug up the ends of the pipe." Apparently I was speaking too logically for their brains to comprehend.

I wouldn't rule out D&D Exhaust...good grunt sound on the exhaust note and you WON'T loose torque...but gain. They have both 2into1 and 2into2 models for the dyna...they also have video clips to get an idea of the sound. D&D has always made some bad *** pipes and made right here in the USA
