Wide Glide Crash Bars?

I searched around on the web a few days back for some and I could not locate any. I think the stock forward controls makes it difficult to install them. On a side note, I have to wait until 30 Sept to pick up my WG. I punched in the VIN on HD's recall site and it came back as needing service so HD is shipping the parts over for service. HD's web site doesn't state what the recall item is but I believe it is for the neutral light problem. Good luck with your search.

Searh HD.com for "engine guards". They have them for fwd controls with and without footboards. I prefer the shape of them footboard version but it uses the footboard mounts...which I don't have.
I saw several Wide Glides yesterday with crash bars so somebody's making them.

i have an '06 wide glide, that i installed the HD highway bars on. likely won't do much in a big crash, but will help protect the forward controls and some of the engine chrome if it falls over (OK, i admit, i have lost it a couple of times while stopped. something about maintaining balance). Bar bolted right on with not problems. have attached hiwhway pegs for the long ride.

Here's the bars I'm looking at for mine. Hoping to get a Lindby rep to install them @ Biketoberfest. Like the look of these vs the tubing HD makes for the DWG. Would also like to install a couple more headlights on them. More comfort with the footpegs, more safety with the lights, more cost effective if I drop it. Worth the loss of a couple cool points.

Heck, may even get the rear bars and go for a more rugged overall look!!
