Default Heel Rest Solutions...

hey guys,

i'm thinking of adding some heel rests to my FXD, rode almost 300 miles this weekend and really could have used them! i rode a fat bob a while back that hard the Harley Rider Heel Rest kit on it and it felt nice...

so i'm thinking about either putting the Rider Footpeg Heel Rest mounts 50227-01. but i have also thought about the Mini Footboards 50451-09 or even the Heel Raiser Footpeg kit 50178-09. i wonder though if the mini footboards will five me the room i'm wanting, and maybe that the Heel Raiser Pegs with the retractable heels would be a better "best of both worlds" option...heel rests when i want them and standard pegs when i dont...

anyone on here used any of these? any advice, input, or thoughts???

thanks guys!
Chris

I have a set of Kuraykin heel rests and foot pegs on my FXR.
Though I can't say about the ones you mention, I can say that I sure do like having those heel rests. I am surprised that I don't see more bikes with the heel rests.

thanks guys. i talked to a friend of a friends, and he didnt have a good report on the Kuraykins. he said the heel rest constantly worked loose and was sliding down on him while riding, usually at least one foot peg every time he went out. i definately want to avoid that...have you guys had that problem?

No problems, none.
I have read of others complaining/slamming Kuryakin, but for me the K's have been flawless. I have the K footpegs, heel rest, hand grips, throttle boss and fork brace - all good.

Do a search on them. I posted pics/part numbers of what I used on the HD part numbers about six weeks ago.

I have the HD heel rests on my extended forwards on my Dyna for 5 yrs. and can't imagine not having them. So many more positions to place your feet.

Just put the HD airfoil heel rests on mine and I love it. No problems at all.

i'm 5'11" so the forward controls are a real stretch for me. i guess thats why i'm looking for heel rest options!
