I have the HD heel rests on my SB with plain jane stock shifter pegs for the heel. Love it, and the stock shifter pegs are very inexpensive.

If your unsure you can try putting a longer (3") bolt through your peg mount and it will act as a heel rest. I did this for almost a year and then finally bought the cheap Kurly knockoffs from JC Whitney.Either way you'll find out if you like them enough. I wouldn't even think about taking them off my Dyna now.

I have the H-D ones on my FXDWG and love them. Thank goodness they came on the bike as I don't know if I would have bought them w/o trying them. Makes long rides pretty comfortable. And I'm 5'11", and I find the forwards to be a perfect fit. I have a friend that's 5'9" that just bought an '05 FXDWG and he likes the control location as well.

I had the Kurys on my '99.....they wouldn't stay tight no matter what I did to them.....one or the other would loosen up on me.....they are not on my '07......I have been thinking about getting some but the HD set would be the way to go.....

I just added the Kuryakyn heel rests to their Pilot pegs about a month ago. I had chosen the Kuryakyn extended forwards on their website recommendation for someone with a 34 inch inseam, (5' 11" w/ 34) but I found the pegs felt just about an inch out further than perfect. (especially the right side due to the air cleaner) I looked at every possible solution and chose to try the Pilot pegs with heel rests.

I moved my first set of Pilots to the passenger position. Adding the heel rests has completely transformed the comfort of the bike for me. No longer am I feeling the cramping that I used to after 100+ miles of riding. I'd never want to change back and it was well worth the extra $$$ IMHO. I used Loctite on the installation and have not had any problems some have had with them coming loose. I also positioned them directly behind the peg so they feel like floor boards and have had no ground clearance problems. On one of the corners where I always used to drag my mids I have not been able to touch them down in repeated attempts.
Be more than willing to post a photo if you'd like.
