Yeah ... big headlight might look cool, too ... but the smaller headlight is more in keeping with the Exile // Russ Mitchell look ....
Almost say drop the front fender and maybe use a 'brace' ... would pick up a bit more of the Exile style ... but, I know what a pain it is riding in wet weather without a fender and even your chopped front fender will provide some protection .... Given your environs, you will no doubt want some protection from the rooster tail from the wet pavement ....
Ever thought of copying JRK's and use a take off front fender from a V-Rod ...? (Lowered and rolled back about an inch ... like his ... you could use spacers and your original mounts on the fork lowers)
The block triple trees don't look too bad to me ... I think ball milled would look okay, too, but not a big fan of getting too fancy with some of that stuff .... keep it simple sailor ....
Can't wait to see the final product ....
Good work ...!

headlight it makes my head hurt
headlights too many to choose from - i really like the small SJP ones fitted to exile, but then I also like the idea of a large 8" light. I thought about a Fatboy headlight powder coated in black. I went to a classic car show and there was a 10" headlight that was huge but ........ it might look interesting. I suppose I need to get it back on the road and something will turn up that i like - although staying well away from skull or maltese cross styles.

the front fender is only for the once a year visit for the vehicle testing - then its off and time for an occasional wet face ...... dont you love rain - and we get a far amount here in Wales.
