Jet x 4,
I rode the seat for three hours from the dealer and it was ok for the first 1.5 but then again I didnt have the heel rests so that may help now. Plus I rode three hours down there before picking it up. I ride for an hour here and there and then a little more on the weekend and for me it is great. However, I just ordered a HD Touring seat from Zanottis for 179.00, a good 40.00 off retail and it should be much more comfortable for my wife. She likes the Medium/low backrest and pad as well. I was gonna go with the Sundowner but it is more expensive and a little wider in the front which I didnt need. Im 5'7 so that would cut down on the reach to the ground. Hope that helps.

Info helps a lot, thanks. I will be in the U.S. in a week (I live in Korea) and will more then likely pick up a similar backrest and a sundowner seat while I'm there. Enjoy your ride.

TF, Here's my 06 Glide with the touring seat, so you know how it will look. Also bought it from Zanotti's three weeks after purchase. Much more comforatable for either one or two up riding! Sundowner was too "bulky" looking for the wide glide i thought. Also got into the accessory book pretty heavy! Love those lowered shocks on your new ride though, maybe next year with the new V&H exhaust! Best of luck, ride safe

I have to be honest...the touring seat actually looks pretty good. I specifically didn't buy the sundowner because it just looked way too bulky and out of place on my DWG. So I went with the pillow-look seat ...with the medium low upright (for two-up riding). If I would've seen the touring seat, I may not have gotten the pillow-look...not sure..would've been a tough call.
I also have the sidekick custom seat and mini upright for solo riding...which I think looks the best and fits the profile of a wide glide perfectly. Of course, not everyone wants to put down the cash for two totally different setups. Either way, everything is better than that terrible stock seat. My a$$ was numb after 20 minutes on that horrid thing.

Great to see all these wide glides!

Here's the Sundowner, the wife and I love it. Heel rests are a must for me, I'm 5' 8"

I am waiting on a Corbin classic solo for my 06 WG. I mostly ride solo and was very interested in a backrest-solo seat combo. After much research I decided to go with the Corbin. The price is steep for both-$768, but I am hoping it will be comfortable and the backrest should make those longer rides more enjoyable.

I am thinking about keeping the bobtail fender rack with the solo seat-I think it will look really cool to see more of the fender. I have never seen a solo seat with the bobtail render rack in place, so this will be a first.

I should have the seat in another couple weeks, and I'll post some pics.

I've had my HD touring seat for about 3 weeks (800 miles) now. My wife loves it. I like it too but not too much different from the stock seat for me. It seems to push me forward just a bit. I'm wondering if it will break in and let me slide back for a little more strech in the legs. Also, the touring seat matches up wit the stock sissy bar setup just like the stock seat. Nice wide glide. I see you already went with some new pegs. It cracks me up when I see the stock pegs on the new bikes in the dealerships. HD has such a racket with the add-ons. You have to love it!
