Default 50.7 MPG! Anyone have better mileage?

Ran 208 miles on a tank saturday coming home! 05 FXD, 4.5 gallon tank, 95",5 speed, with 95HP engine. That's riding pretty hard 60-75 MPH and coming through Montgomery and Tuscaloosa AL. Includes warp speed passing on 2 lane road and blasting away from red lights. Most miles i have ever ridden on a bike without stopping. I had previously averaged it out at 75-80 MPH interstate running and got 47 MPG. Kinda proves you can have your cake and eat it too. I run a 42 MM Mikuni/V & H pro pipe with standard baffle holes drilled larger/SE heavy breather.

The only time I've beat that gas mileage was in Kentucky and Tennessee with tanks that had gas WITHOUT ethanol (that stuff doesn't help mileage!) and with long fun miles of downhill stretches from the mountain. Got one tank that averaged 53 mpg one day, really surprised me.

I get about 50 mpg, but unless I'm mistaken I think a UK gallon is more than a US gallon.

Before any mods I would get about 50-52, now it is more like 34, maybe 35 if I ride with a tail wind the whole time.

I get average 42-43 mpg that's consistent no matter what type of riding I do, freeway, mountains, coastal highways, etc. I consistently ride fast and don't nurse it. So it is what it is.

Best I've been able to muster on the highway is 41.5, but there's always an extra butt on my bike when I leave for anything over 20-30 miles.

glad I'm not the only one. I thought I broke something it dropped so much. I guess there's are two way's to look at that. The OEM HD Program is VERY lean or the PCV (in my case) is VERY rich.

I've gotten over 60mpg on several occasions in extended light throttle cruising (50-70mph)
at altitudes of 5,000 to 10,000 feet. I mention altitude because I believe the EFI is
leaning itself out to compensate for the lower air pressure. Almost all of the 10,000
miles on my bike have been put there at altitudes of 4,500 to 10,000 feet and I've
run 80+ for hours on end up and down I-40 and I-25 in Arizona and New Mexico while
getting 43-45mpg.
