There's innumerable things you COULD do....but the things you NEED to do or SHOULD do are very few. Depending on exactly how many months you are talking...you could possibly even just park it and forget it. First thing I'd recommend doing would be to get a battery tender on it. Secondly, if it's carburated add a LITTLE Stabil to a very low tank and run it til empty. That's the best "set it and forget it" approach IMO. Alternatively to that last step...You could keep full tank of gas with some Stabil instead and start it up once every month or two to get some oil circulated. If it's stored on concrete put some carpet or something in between. Concrete is drying constantly and so ABSORBS (not gives off) moisture thereby drying out the tires.

Beyond that ...There's LOTS of other things you COULD do...but little to nothing else you NEED to.

I live in a downtown hi-rise with a heated garage (I think it stays above 55 for the most part). So, low temps or temp changes aren't really a big concern of mine. I do plan on parking it on some cardboard and putting in some fuel stabilizer. I plan on riding it up and down my garage 10-15 minutes every two weeks. Not sure what else I need to do.

I don't have access to an electrical outlet for a battery tender.

When you say not heated, what do you mean? My garage isn't heated, but it rarely gets that cold out there. BTW, I store my wife's bike (which ever one she's had) every Winter. Getting hot then cold is probably worse than staying one temp. Running the bike once a month or so is sufficient to circulate the oil although if you aren't riding it, you aren't doing much for the transmission and primary.

I really don't think bikes are that fragile.

I do use a battery tender from time to time, but I don't keep in plugged in constantly. I do put stabil in and run the bike to make sure it is in the carb. I would change the fluids in Spring, but I don't think that is absolutely necessary.
