Default Reading a Motorcycle Tire

I got most of the string of numbers reading a tire except the end one.

Here's are 2 different Pirelli's

NIGHT DRAGON
MH90-21 M/C54HTL NIGHT DRAGON FRONT
150/80 B 16 M/C 77H REINF TL NIGHT DRAGON REAR

MT 66 ROUTE
80/90 - 21 M/C 48H ROUTE MT 66 FRONT
150/80 - 16 M/C 71H TL ROUTE MT 66 REAR

What are do the "H" numbers represent?

Interestingly enough, the OEM Dunlops on my 05 wide glide have same front numbers as the Night Dragons and the rears numbers are the same as the MT 66's. It's like a combination of both models.

The letter is a speed rating. Meaning you should not exceed THAT speed with THIS tire or possible bad things can happen.

according to the wikipedia link Woody posted, an H rated tire has a max speed of 130. But that info is for cars and trucks. Not sure that it corrolates to motorcycles.

It's amazing. I googled "motorcycle tire speed rating" and came up with this link:

It does if it's on a piece of heavy equipment or a Military tire.

Why not go with Metzelers or Avons? There is a huge following of both brands on this here forum.

You can put a 90/90/21 on your front. 8451Hog & I have it on our 05' WG's He has a 160 on the rear.
