This is probably a dumb question, but how do you get the stock harley hose clamps off, like the ones on the hose between the left and right sides of the tank?

 

I would use a pair of diagonal cutters as the clamps are put on with a "special tool". Then go out a buy a short section of 1/4" ID hose and 2 screw hose clamps. BTW I would clamp that hose on each side of where I plan to cut it before it's cut...unless you have drained the tank or enjoy getting hosed with gas.
