Bit of an old thread but I was exactly thinking of doing this but Im not sure what my 2007 FXD mag wheel is coated with. Is the smooth part covered with a poly coating (like the forks)? The spokes seem to be painted with some sort of crinkle epoxy or poweder coat. If I could strip all that stuff off and polish the whole thing smooth, id rather go that route.
Anyone done anything like this? Cheers.
