1000-mile service by independent mechanic

I would be surprised if they could deny you with or WITHOUT receipts. You can sign off in your book when you do what and that should be all the record that you need. Receipts will never hurt but I doubt they are a requirement. You can't very well have a receipt for checking torque on bolts and checking brakes.

I had my Dealer do the 1000 service 'Great Lakes Harley' and I had them put Amsoil in all 3 holes and the manager said I will still have full Warranty plus he said Amsoil is better then the HD oil's any way. He said it meets and exceeds all of HD oil specifications. He said he has a lot of customers have him put in Amsoil and some other high quality oils too and the motor company has never gave him a problem. But he did say he wouldn't put in any cheep stuff that didn't meet specifications He said that would be a big problem.

Print out the service checklist. Check off as it is done. Sign it and date it.
Put the vin on it and the miles on the od.
Keep receipts for oil and filters. Or if the indy does it have him check it off and sign it. Keep his bill.
As long as the fluids meet the specs their ok.
If they required you to only use Harley fluids they have to give them to you.
