Put some gaiters on the front forks and it will be a nice match with the rear.

07 FXD with Ohlins and Metzler 880s. 7K miles? No problem. My stocker went 8700 and was a maypop, should have changed it at 8K. The ride with the 880s is SO much better that I'd use them if they got 4K.
Added a Sundowner Tallboy seat (I'm 6'4") and XR 1200 black bars and mirrors and I'm lovin' life.

'07 FXD with Mustang Wide seat, extended forwards, Ricor Intiminators in forks, 8" high 1.5" pullback risers, 3-1/2" pullback drag bars and loving it. My Ricor rear shocks are on the way.

The Intiminators made a drastic improvement for the front end, which seemed to be my suspension's most urgent need for upgrading. The new rear shocks should be the icing on the cake.

For ultimate handling the 5.5" inch high by 1.5" pullback risers with the same drag bars were the best, but would have been even better if I could have found bars that were 29 to 30 inches wide instead of my 27.5" wide bars. My problem with the 5.5" risers was just that they needed shorter cables in order to prevent kinking. I took the cheaper route and just bought higher risers.

Ditching the awkward buckhorns for risers and drag bars did require a speedometer/idiot light relocation, but with the help of Glydiator and his simple $25 do-it-yourself kit, I was able to accomplish that task.

Yeah, my bike is not like the one in my sig anymore, I need to change it.

I did the same but used the shorter Street Glide shocks. Much smoother ride, really takes out the road chop. I use a air compressor with a regulator set at 40 psi to fill them, then use a pressure gauge with a bleed off valve and bleed them down to 10 psi. Only modification to make them fit is to trim the rubber boot where it attaches to the shock so that it doesn't interfere with the belt guard, might be better just to shim the shocks out about a 1/4".

Costly mistake for me... hope they work out for you.
Those tires are pretty soft, which means they grip better. Being the wheel that handles all the drive from your motor I'm not surprised the rear was worn out in 7k miles. Remember, there is a compromise between performance and longevity.

As far as the front tire, Maybe you just got one that was a little off or that wasn't balanced right. Who knows why it wore the way it did. With so many members praising those tires, I'd say you were just slightly unlucky with the front.
