There's allot of erroneous information out there.I'm running a 180 Screaming Eagle Dunlop on the stock rim, it's made for it.I understand the Pirrelli Night Dragon will fit as well. Also I have my wires in the stock location right now and they work fine.I did however take some metal tape and secure the loose wires to the inner fender.I've been running oversized tires on bikes for years against the advice of the so called experts and never had a problem.I did once put a tire on the back of my KLR 250 that was so big it actually slowed the top speed down by 5MPH but that was the only issue I had with it.

This is true for most 180 tires but there are 2 choices designed to fit the narrower 4.5 inch rim. SE 180 and the Pirielli Night Dragon.

As far as the wires goes I cut though mine the first day so had to reroute them some. Never had anymore issues after that.

I went to a Pirelli 180 Night Dragon on my 07 FXD with no mods needed.
