Default Clack Clack noise coming from primary

Yesterday while riding my 2010 WG, I noticed a louder than normal "clacking" noise coming from my primary. I only notice it when sitting still.. I had my 1000 mile service done and now have 1600 miles on my bike but the noise just started. Any ideas before I take it in to the dealer or is this normal as things are breaking in?

+1 on that I have seen them be loose but tight to the touch.

The noise could possibly be the chain slapping off of the inside of the primary cover . I think I'd hold off riding it .

If it sounds like the chain is slapping the case you most likely have a problem with your chain tensioner....in which case don't ride to be on the safe side.
I've read about this loud mysterious sound in other threads and the trend seems to be that the dealers sell it off as a normal sound. I can tell you my primary never sounded like that....even before I put the SE compensator on it was pretty quiet.

At least get the bike up level and check to see if the shop put oil in your primary at 1K check. Does sound like primary chain slap.

Default Loose compensator

My 06 had a loose compensator bolt at 15k miles. I retorqued it to spec and it still sounded like ****. So I ordered a Screamin Eagle unit should be here tomorrow. Many people have complained of noise emitted from stock compensator assy. I also upgraded to the HD tensioner as well.
