What year is your custom? Mines going on an 07 lowrider.
My FXDC is a 2009 model. The Fat Bob system is off a 2008 model. Only part I had to buy was the longer 5/16" bolt for the rear muffler bracket, which has an 08 part number, so you may need that bracket for your 07.

I like the look of that. Nice one. When I bought my fat bob, I thought the first purchase would be some kind of V & H exhaust, but having lived with the stock exhaust a while, I really like it.

I'm not sure about the cat inside though. Will it really absorb much power? I guess the only way to get rid of it is a complete exhaust switch but I do like the look of the stock system, and with the sound of the Rush Slip ons its perfect.

The 2008 Fat Bob system doesn't have a cat in it.

Does the 2010s have cats or is that just in the smog controlled states. The pipes I got are from a 2010. Is the cat located in the part of the pipe that comes together?

I'm pretty sure the 2010 FB and WG have a cat. And it's located in the collector (where the header pipes come together). I think the 2009 models do too. That's why I made sure to get a system from a 2008 model.

My 09 owners manual states all 09 Tommy Gun exhaust on WideGlide & FatBob have catalyst in them. They changed the place of the cat throughout the years. Some have it in the area of the vented rear headpipe and some have them in the collector. All 2010 and 09 California regualr dual with cross over have them in the slip on mufflers. Anyone have a 2008 owners manual to check the Tommy Gun exhaust status of Catalyst?

There was some discussion about cats a year or so ago. 2009 FatBobs do not have a cat, HD ended up not putting them on the 09s although perhaps the cal models had them.
