Default Grab Strap With Aftermarket Seat?

When you install an aftermarket seat do y'all get rid of the 'grab strap,' or leave it on and adjust the length for the new seat?

Mine is gone. Looks like *** and I've never seen anybody actually use it for anything.

But everybody's different.

The first thing I do when I get a new bike or a new seat with a grab strap is take it off. There is some research that indicates that they are dangerous, but some state laws mandate them. They just cover the curves of the seat. i am sure the honey will find something to hold on to.

I got rid of mine, and I still use the stock seat for 2-up. Pain to get off.

RIC, Just cut the strap and take it off the pegs on the bottom-if it is a stock seat or unscrew it, or whatever. It's just a cheap plastic strap. toss it.
