Sturgis first timer
#12
I stay away from the larger runs: Sturgis, Laconia, Daytona, Laughlin, etc. I don't like having to stand in line for everything: to park the scoot, to buy a shirt, to get something to eat or even to use a port-a-potty.
My personal favorite is the Redwood Run in Northern California. It's put on by the local Kiwanis club, which is made of mostly business owners. They welcome us with open arms and absolutely love the money we bikers bring in for that weekend. Since they hold the event on private property, among the beautiful Sequoia/Redwood trees, the cops cannot harass us. It's great. If any of you have the opportunity, try it. I know of no one who comes away disappointed.
