All the posts Oct 7th and after. The Oct 7th post was a question for the OP, it seemed, and they hadn't put anything on the thread for 11 years. It might have been a technical question, but it seemed more mocking.

Oh, you were serious? You are asking why the spacers are not the same width on both sides of the axle? Different sizes are needed depending on the hub width and bearing recess.

Shirley I was serious!
I just put new axle bearings in because I thought that they were an issue. It turns out that my wonderful Harley Davidson dealer put the tire on backwards. That being said I I see that it seems that one bearing seems to be sitting deeper into the wheel. Am I to understand that the wider spacer is designed to make up for the recess? Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.
