local shop drilled a couple of holes in a piece of billet when they drilled the bottom tree for me. I know what you mean that the light sits too far in to the trees with the stock mount.

I have since taken the headlight off but kept the mount. sorry I can't be more help.

I'm trying to mount it on a 2002 night train and its way to long for the stock mount setup.

Any help would be great!
I used a Dremel tool to cut a small piece of billet and drilled a hole through both ends. I drilled the triple clamp from the bottom up (more room for the drill). The piece of billet was bolted to the bole on the clamp and my headlight was mounted to the other hole.

FYI: Since I just moved my headlight down (01 FXDL) & I did buy one of Headwinds brackets. However. They were $5 cheaper & cheaper to ship @ phatperformanceparts (& no...I don't work for them.lol)

It's definitely going to look a lot better with it on there. There just seems to be a "void" there now..2 empty threaded holes.etc. Plus it's going to make the idiot lights a lot easier to re-use.
