Default Dyno the 2010 WG

Just had a PCV installed on my 2010 WG, with stage 1 ac and Samson shorties motor showed 70.7 hp and 84.5 ft/lbs torque. Stock is 63 hp and 81.0 ft/lbs torque. Tuner said this is about standard for this motor. Sound about right?

Don't you trust the word of your tuner?

I do trust the tuner but no more than I trust anyone else. I have the dyno readout but I was just wondering if those numbers were about what others were getting. Not a question so much of trust but of comparing numbers.

Different dyno & different tuners will get different numbers. Some more, some less. If your tuner said that is average for what he gets when tuning, then I'd go with that.

That 63 HP at the rear tire is spot on with what Harley Davidson its ownself publishes in it's SE Pro Racing Parts online catalog. They probably have a dyno for just the setup you have somewhere in the catalog; an informative and interesting gander at any rate.......

So 7 HP and a 3.5 ft-lbs increase in peak power for what probably cost you well over $800? I guess if you think about it in terms of percentage a 10% increase in peak HP sounds better. How much more area is there "under the curve"? Can you post the dyno runs?

I think I'm leaving mine stock. I don't really want a loud bike, mine runs great in stock form, and the gains don't sound significant to me.

Sweet looking bike! I think the #'s all a little low for a stage 1. Just about every sheet I see, the #'s average around 75hp & 90tq. If anything I would say the pipes are whats killing the performance, but if you like' em thats what counts.

Thanks for the comments guys,,,will probably keep the pipes for now as the HP is adquate for the immediate future. If I do any further mods to the engine will consider better pipes for HP but I do love the sound of the Samsons. And I do think Harley did a pretty decent job on this years WG. I can't take any of the credit, all I've done is basically remove stuff I didn't like and throw on a few mods!
