Yea, Leavenworth would be my first choice too, but this time of year reservations can be tough as mentioned. I am rather fond of Winthrop as I was stationed there when I was a Smokejumper many years ago.

I live in one of the suburbs of Vancouver. I do that ride quit a bit. Not usually all the way to Whistler but up past were the highways turns inland. If you haven't done it in a while you need to come back. The highway was upgraded for the Olympics and is now one of the best riding roads anywhere. Do a search for "Sea to Sky Highway"

Never made the loop, but me and girl rode to Winthrop and back a couple weeks ago on the cascade. Stopped in at the MC shop in Concrete,, met Jon,, owner,, real good guy. Next time you're up that way you should pop in. Comming back west right by the lake, I was just starting to lean into a corner,, wind caught me, straightened me right back up and almost into the guard rail. Girl seen the whole thing,, said it was intense,, thought I was gonna **** myself for a second. I've rode alot,, never felt nothing like that before. Hoping to do the loop after we get back from Sturgis.
