After much debating of which bike to buy (dare I say Yamaha R6 or R1) I finally came to my senses & decided that they are only fun to ride at 220 Kph & statistics say you will suffer the consequences. So I decided that a Harley was the best bet & chose the Super Glide. Looked at a second hand 2005 FXD for $A20000, nice bike but not much cheaper than new. Harleys obviously hold their value. So then started looking at new FXD & finally chose the 2006 custom. Close to taking the plunge when someone said wait & see the 2007 model soon to be released, & so I’m hooked on the 2007 custom.
The deposit has been paid but the wait continues...........
I have been told that it should arrive here in Australia some time mid September. It’s now close to Sept but still they have got no details of the bike nor a firm delivery date. The dealer is hoping to take delivery of the 2007 Softails 9th sept I can only hope my Dyna is in the same shipment.

that 06 sounds awesome,not that big of a diff between the 06 vs the o7,in my opinion . some dyno tests do say the 06 is faster,for what that is worth. lol.no flames on that one,please,LOL.

 

The speedo on the handle bars was the only thing that I disliked on the pre 07, so when I say pics of the 07 I was convinced that it was the bike, I may have to lower it when she arrives, the old short legged problem.

I had the same issue with my 2006. It will arrive when it arrives is all I can say - you get all excited when a shipment is due and then get let down when it is not there - be patient.

 

If you race an 06 against an 07 I would not bet your title on it.

I'm also from Aussie land and have been waiting for my 07 Street Bob. I was promised a deilery in mid Sept, but the dealer called me a few weeks ago and said my bike will be delivered in Nov. (I paid my deposit on 15th May) Somehow my order was pushed back into the later shipments, even though they assured me that I was the first on the list when I made the deposit in May. Just keep in touch with your dealer and make sure you push for the Sept delivery. Looks like you'll be riding 2 months before I am.

Anothe Aussie here. I bought an 06 FXDCI earlier this year off the floor. Same reasons as you for not going back to a sports bike. I love it, it's a great choice. I like the speedo up in the bars, but then I'm tall and I have mini apes on the bike, and I don't like looking down at the tank to check my speed (5 tickets in 6 months and counting).

I was at the local dealer here in the ACT yesterday, they had a few 07's on the floor already (softails only). You'll take your chances with delivery timeframes but if you want the very latest, theres a price to be paid. Just don't tbe dissapointed if they move the delivery date a few times.

Seems like I am caught in the false hope's of a delivery soon. I've seen a few 07 wide glides & softails at the dealers. Seems that there are no FXDC's in the first shipment to Australia. Now Im looking / hoping for a November date. Has the FXDC been released in the States? Im after Vivid Black which I would think was the easy colour to get.

 

I would kill to see the new Dyna Glide Custom, so yesterday I call the portuguese importer and...

A big disapoitment was to find out they don't came in two tone colour schemes like the Low Rider[&o]
