I just used the plate tab to put a emblem on. Can't have too many HD emblems ya know.
I was thinking about that as well. The Harley side mount kit I was looking at (yeah I know it's $$ but I like the stock look of it) even comes with an emblem that goes in the plate holes.

I've looked on the web page and in the catalog and didn't see one. I have two so I may end up cuting one and try and polish it or just put a badge or something on the tab.
I used a dremel tool to cut mine off, then used a sander to smooth out the edges. You really don't need to chrome it again, I can hardly tell its modified.
