No Risk, No Reward. No Going back Now! **PICS**
I have been looking for a look that would go with my distressed brown leather seat and my brown leather tank panel. It's super hot and super humid here in the midwest and I pull my bike out of the AC in the garage and all the chrome on the FatBob is cold thus condensates. I really thought it looked cool. I never knew how to reproduce the look. So I was going through the plumbing isle at lowes and seen a "Brushed chrome" faucet that matched that look. So I did a little research and grabbed me some brillo pads and jumped into action. Once you commit theres no going back, your actually scratching the **** outta your chrome. I like the antiqued look. I did my shocks and strut covers, it's alot of work but I like it.

I like the look. Think I'd have tried a scotchbrite pad instead of brillo but kudos for having the chutzpah to do this.
Will be interesting to see if it encourages rust. I'd think that would depend on how deep the scratches are - brushed chrome faucets don't rust any more than polished chrome.

Remember, chrome is a multi layered process, so this wont cause rust as you are only scratching the surface of the chrome, not nearly deep enough to penetrate into the base metal. As said above, using a scotchbrite pad would give it more of a fine look vs. the slightly rough look of the brillo.
