Hey, Joe, how are things?

I am starting up my thread on my conversion. I have the FLH bags here, some V&H Short shot pipes, as I want to keep the a$$ end low and avoid pipes to bag clearance (I also got my NEW Short shots for $282 delivered!!), and am going to use Easy brackets with metal plate on the inside of the bags to sandwich the 'glass and avoid cracks.

Gonna be cool! Hope you check out the thread!

Default hard bags on dyna

I still wish they were bigger but style was part of the design equation. I really wanted the painted hard bags but did not want to spend what they cost; then these came out. I got them at my local dealer 20% off-sometimes they run specials, coupons etc.
They bolt on to fender struts and are not quick detach, the lids have push button key locks.
Thanks for the feedback, Oldbie!

Default quick-release locking hard bags

Another option are locking hard bags by Leatherlyke. They come with quick-release docking posts so you can strip it down from bagger to cruiser in a matter of seconds. You have to unlock the bags to get to the quick release clips so very secure. The docking posts mount on the rear strut using the existing bolt holes - you have to relocate the rear turn signals.

I have a set of these on my '06 Street Bob. They are made of ABS polymer with a thick collapsable water proof seal. I had these stuffed w/luggage on a 10 day trip. We rode through some heavy downpours and the luggage was stayed dry. Here's a photo of the bags without the passenger pillion:

Which Hardstreet bags do you have? I'm thinking of trying the Classic Tour.

Morloka's most recent post on the forum is from April '11 ... I did a quick search and he noted on a thread here https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ml#post7409087 that they did not have the slim bags two years ago when he bought his ...

... don't know if that helps ....
