U-234, that's a real nice mounting setup, very slick. Like the covers and how you've utilized the bolts for the detachable Sissy bar to keep that as an option.

Asphalt Warrior, what kinda mounting did you use for the RKC bags? They look great as well.

Hi Oldbie,

I was looking at those bags in the H-D catalogue the other night. How do you like them? Can they hold a leather jacket and chaps? How do they mount to the bike? Are they quick-detach? I would appreciate any additional information.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but Asphalt Warrior, what modifcations did you make to the RK bags to get them to fit. I have a set of RK bags that I am going to mount on my 07 SB but it looks like I will have to make a cut out to clear the shocks. I want to mount them as close as I can using easy brackets. Any pictures you have would be great.

I ordered some FLH bags from V-Twin today. Black, 1977-84 vintage

I have some easy brackets that are in route, as well as a tombstone tailight with the turn signals on the sides arriving shortly.

Soon, my FXD will be a FLD.

I'll post pics of the progress once I start the conversion.

I like them. One side will hold my jacket if folded carefully-I have a Fox Creek and it is substantial. I also have FC leather pants, they fit nicely in one side with room for gloves and scarf, neckwarmer etc. They have 7lb weight limit per side, I am sure I have exceeded that. I still wish they were bigger but style was part of the design equation. I really wanted the painted hard bags but did not want to spend what they cost; then these came out. I got them at my local dealer 20% off-sometimes they run specials, coupons etc.
They bolt on to fender struts and are not quick detach, the lids have push button key locks.
