It's been working well for about 9 months now ....

The two bolts into the channel on the rear of the muffler hold the bar rigid horizontally and create a cantilever ... the threaded rod/spacer standoff get a proper distance from the stock mounting bracket ... and the headlamp mounting block marries up the two parts ....

It really seemed like a good solution at the time; and, I have been favorably impressed with the way it has worked out ....

The bracket is definitely supporting the muffler and not vice versa ... I've been keeping a watchful eye on the pipe to catch any problems with it after having gotten a lesson ....
