my thumb screw will lock very tight with a half a turn..and it has before due to a glove accident too....only wear gloves when its just way too dam cold to not to

Yes the glove will make it happen , some people don't believe it

Glad you found the problem and fixed it. That was the reason I posted back on page one of the thread. Sure sounded like there was a mechanical problem.

Yes when i took it apart the c-clip was off ( probably fell off over time ) and it was sideways inside the throttle grip area and most likely causing a TIGHTER jam with a shorter turn of thumb wheel because of my glove rub ....

With the glove rub and the clip off and jammed in there i'm sure it cause it to be more tighter with a shorter turn than usual and that's what cause me to "Almost lose it "

yeah the c clip should lightly touch the throttle grip fully assembled, that thing can move when attaching the grip and come out of the little pin it sits in. It probably moved last time you installed the grips(the new risers).

Well i must have had those controls off 5 times this year between different handlebars and different riser changes i'm sure that's what cause it i took it out completely this time so i won't have to worry no more and i'm sure i'm keeping my handlebar/riser set up till i die !

man that is crazy i know that embarased feeling you are talking about i was stoped at a light by some railroad tracks made my turn and laid on the throttle pretty good well it spun pretty good but wheni grabed traction my hand was reaching to grab the clutch and the bike lerched forward and my left hand flew off and the bike got all squirelly and i felt like a dang retard hahha my buddies all jsut laughed at me for a while
