Come on Joe, are you really telling us you haven't looked around? Tyres and oil are probably the most common topics on HDF (yawn!). I will only fit Avons on my V-twins and I have three of them.

Thanks for the input here guys. And grbrown, I have looked around and can't find much as the Fat Bob front tire is kind of a different size. I haven't found much that matches up.

True, but model year 2008 started production late 2007, so there will be 2008 model bikes built and owned from the year before. 'Twas ever thus with Harleys (and many other brands). My 2007 model Buell was made in August 2006.

Granted, not arguing that. But when I'm looking at descriptions for compatibility I am looking to see or have an item refer to my "2008 Fat Bob." It's not a "2007 Fat Bob." If I saw that description I'd be skeptical that the tire may not actually match up, I'd have to do more digging before I'd pull the trigger.

I'm sure it DOES fit. But if I ran across that description I'd do more research.

Robert,

It says '2007 onwards'. What more do you want?! Take a researching look at Avon's website, via the link I gave, where you can enter your bike's details and find out for yourself. If in any doubt email them, Avon are usually quick in replying to questions, in my experience.

The recommended front and rear tyres for my 1990 bike were unchanged from the 80s for around 20 years for the touring family! Avons are great tyres for all those bikes and yours.

I repeat I don't doubt they fit if you say they do. But that description is not worded in a manner that inspires total confidence--for me. The way that it reads to me, they think that there's a 2007 Fat Bob model, and if so they don't know what they're talking about. I'm not trying to be argumentative, just pointing out what that says to me. As a potential customer, I think a more accurate model fitment description would be more tempting.

That said, I've decided I'm sticking to the stock tires on the Fat Bob, I can honestly say they're better than any tires I've had on any of my previous four bikes.

The Avon Venoms are a great tire. If you are looking for a performance tire that really sticks to the road and inspires confidence, consider the Venoms.

Well, after a lot of research and sifting through other threads I decided on some tires. I am going with Avon Cobra front and rear. I had to change size a little but I hear they will fit no problem. In front I am going with 150/80 R-16 and rear will be 200/60 R-16. Not a huge difference, but they will be a little fatter.
