Then could we safely say that if someone changes the front tire and the wiggling stops, then that model bike shouldn't have any problem with the front end?
Just thinkin' out loud here.

I'm not into a P!$$ing contest over tires either. I had the startling "snake attack" a few times, didn't like the fact that the back tire had been repaired when I bought the bike used and made the switch to 880's. Don't get me wrong, I didn't switch to get rid of the snakes, that was a bonus.

All that I said happened, did and continues to happen. Snakes don't exist for me and they did before I made the change. There is no center groove on the 880's to follow a line and my take is that's why it cured that problem. I've stiffened frames and front ends on Beemers in years past and I don't notice anything loose or hinge like in the FXD, especially now that I made the change. For me I'm happy with the frame, swing arm and front end just as it is.

Time will tell how the tires last. I'm impressed all to heck with them so far.

Another thing that can affect handling on strips, snakes, cold-planed surfaces, raised markings etc is if the tires have got a bit squared off from too many straight roads.

Default ME 880s and a True Track

Its nice to know that the 880s aided in handling on a Dyna as they have a great size selection. They also look nice. I also believe that the true Track is virtually a required upgrade for any rubber mounted Dyna. I have spent many miles riding Jap sportbikes and pavement irregularities rarely ever upset them regardless of tire choices and believe me at a set of tires every 2k miles I tried many brands. So although tires may aid in correction of this trait on a DYNA the simple fact of the matter is that the rubber mounted rear swingarm needs to be assisted with a Chassis stabilizer of some sort to even remotely handle correctly. Let the flaming begin....

Once I went from the Dunlops to Michelin Commanders on my WG, it rode worlds better. And that's w/ a skinny 21" front wheel.
