Default What book does dealer use for trade in value?

I was wondering what book the dealers use for trade in value. I checked Kelly Blue Book but was trying to find some other book values for comparison. Could't find trade in values listed for Nada or Edmunds. Thanks for any information that might help.

Local Dealers here use that damn black book.. you have to pay to get access.. & it uses the auction price. Can you say very low trade in values. But if they wana stay working I understand. Cool thing he'll log in print you the paper work & show you he's not pulling your leg.

Our dealers will find the lowest "rough trade-in" price and cut that in half.

Believe it or not, those 'books' are more for the lending institution than the dealer. Yeah, the dealer uses them but mostly for floor-plan purposes and to see what he/she can get it financed for through the bank to a new customer.

Lots of controversy on this topic. But that's the vehicle business for you.
