I like the V&H Straight Shots that came on my WG when I got it, but I really want a pair of these. They're Martin Bros. Daisy Cutters. I kick myself in the butt, as I could have picked up a set at a swap meet last year for $300.
Cycle Shack slip-ons perform great and sound great, all at a reasonable price. Doing this retains your low-end torque, adds some top-end power, and sounds wonderful.
Re: leg and air filter situation: I took an educated guess and installed the extended (5") footpegs with the chrome end caps. As they are not as thick as the stock pegs my leg is a tiny bit more stretched out and I can also move them an inch further away from the bike which has been a plus for me for the hot touch to any motor parts. I did this also to get some more "foot options" so to speak for ten and twelve hour rides in the saddle, but I haven't put that to the test yet. Anyway, I'm glad I got them, they look sharp too, adding two chrome bits down low and out.
I put the 3" cycle shack slip on's on my 2010 WG. Didn't want to spend the $1,000+ for full exhaust, intake and remapping. IMO it gives a deep noticeable bark without loosing any power. I do allot of city driving and this bike kicks out some serious heat, but then I take it for a cruise at night and all is good.
I have screaming eagle slip ons. they sound great and the heat is not even noticeable.Performance got better but dont know how much i gained in HP..99 FXDWG
