Lo Profile Leather Seat for 2009 FXDC
Well, just turned over 4700 miles on a 2009 FXDC Superglide Custom and its obvious that the stock seat comfort isn't likely to improve. I'd checked out a Sundowner on a 2007 FXD, admittedly it is comfortable but I dislike the appearance of the huge and bulbous pillion. I was wondering about the long distance comfort level of the Lo-Profile Leather Seat, has anybody tried one out?

Thanks for the input, as a result of this I am looking into seats by Mustang, Le Pera, C & C, and Saddleman, in addition to the Harley-Davidson selection. So far its a toss up between the C & C Sport Tour and the Saddleman Explorer. I do like the Mustang Vintage and also the Squareback. The Le Pera Daytona 2-Up smooth and the Sorrento are attractive. However, the Saddleman includes gel and is lower cost than the C & C with gel optional for $85 extra. Still shopping.

Thanks for the inputs on the HD Lo-Profile Leather Seat. I suspected that it would be hard, but that it is an improvement over the stock seat. About that 300 mile on backroads pounding the butt, is the seat any better on long freeway trips? Most of my current rides are 150 miles or less, as the stock seat gives me serious numb butt after 70 miles. If I want to see my folks in Arizona, I'm looking at 500 miles one-way. I would rather have a good looking seat that was just good enough, rather than a comfortable long-distance seat that is ugly. Superglides have lean and clean lines that I would hate to spoil.

I have a seat from bar enterprises. It sits me lower and gives good lumbar support. I have the model with the memory form and have made several 500 mile trips. Get out your checkbook - I had mine finished in leather and it wasn't cheap. I really like the seat though and have turned my fxdc into a mini tourer. I do more travelling than I though when I bought the bike - 15000 miles in 18 months.
