Default question about Arlen Ness Big Sucker

I have a 2005 FXDCI with 7,000 miles on it.
I have the SE stage I big bore kit with SE II slip on mufflers.
SERT & Dyno tune....80 HP & 86 TQ...not bad with stock cams
I am planning on adding S & S gear drive cams this winter....here's my question
right now I am using the SE a/c that came with the Stage I big bore, I am thinking about going to an Arlen Ness big sucker a/c

What's the difference between the Arlen Ness stage I big sucker and the stage II big sucker?????
will this give me more flow than the SE a/c
does the Arlen Ness a/c use a K & N filter????
will the ness unit fit under a stock HD football chrome cover????

Thanks in advance

I have the big sucker II. The filter is a K&N but it is taller and maybe bigger in diameter than the BS I. I cannot use the football cover, I had to get an 8" round cover.
I doubt if it is worth the money to change out a SE if it has the K&N filter.......

the bsI kit can use the stock football cover. it is a k&n air filter, the SE kit does not use k&n and they have been known to fall apart. i would stick to ness BSI kit. bolts right on in matter of minutes.

A few things to consider. First unless you are considering a monster build the Stage II is overkill. Engine only takes in as much air as it needs. A bigger filter isn't going to do anything unless the engine needs more air. Second thing is the Big Sucker (both) uses a K&N STYLE filter. Not a true K&N. I have read some instances of the rubber seal on the Ness filter deteriorating in a very short time. Not all but some have. They replace it under warranty but still. If your SE already has a K&N leave it alone. If it has the paper filter swap it out for a K&N and save about $60.

Just my $.02

I would have to agree with MonsterMile. I have a Ness Big Sucker on my 05 SuperGlide and so far no problems. The filter in them are a K & N type but not made by K & N just like Monster Mile said. I think I have read that the backing plate on a Ness BS is better than on a SE.
